Thank you for being an essential part of this growing community.

    Merge User Conference highlights

The 2025 Merge User Conference kicked off with AI insights from industry luminary Nina Kottler, MD, MS, FSIIM and Associate Chief Medical Officer AI. She delivered a compelling keynote on generative AI’s potential to advance radiology practices. The takeaway is, in short time, gen AI has proven it can be applied to many steps of the imaging workflow to provide relief to beleaguered radiologists and address immediate challenges in healthcare.

Attendees always say a favorite part of the conference is the physician panel. This year, Dr. Raj Chopra, CMO of Merge, Dr. Randy Hicks of Regional Medical Imaging, and Dr. Sujith Kalathiveetil of Duly Health and Care, exchanged points of view on delivering top-tier patient care in today’s environment. The takeaway: clinical team needs and physician concerns are critical for success when evaluating and adopting new technologies.

A diverse panel discussed cloud: Joseph Davis, Customer Security Officer from Microsoft, Tiffany Lemmen, Director of IT for Queens Health System, Hawaii, and Monique Rasband from KLAS, talked about best practices in adoption, change management, security, and growth with Merge SVP of Product Development Tomer Levy. The takeaway: as Merge completes a growing number of successful, secure cloud deployments, confidence is continuously improving. Radiology and Enterprise Imaging tracks offer education and insights to new features and functions in Merge solutions.

The Radiology and Enterprise Imaging tracks featured Merge partners, client presenters and panelists sharing best practices, lessons learned and showcasing use of technology in POCUS and scope videos. The roadmap sessions informed of exciting features to come in Merge Imaging Suite – with new releases of Workflow Orchestrator and Merge Universal Viewer.

Watch for new release announcements in this newsletter and on the Merge Community.

Cardiology track highlights collaboration and innovation.

From early evaluations of Merge Cardio 12.5 to a fascinating discussion led by cardiology consultant Dr. Sujith Kalathiveetil, the Cardiology Track brought practical applications and future innovations together. Monique Rasband, VP KLAS shared how findings from KLAS research are directing progress in cardiovascular care, while customer panelists like Joey Forrester and Randy Maib shared real-world insights on leveraging Merge solutions to streamline operations.

Introducing Merge Imaging Suite solutions for Teleradiology

Merge Imaging Suite is modular, scalable and based on a cloud-native foundation to support your imaging organization in various ways. After more than three years of experience with client projects, the Merge team recognizes patterns of adoption around certain use cases. Merge VP of Product Management Andrei Gonzales talked about this in Healthcare IT News earlier this year.

To simplify and accelerate your usage of Merge Imaging Suite, the team is defining solutions around those patterns, to simplify your evaluation, procurement and deployment for these use cases. The first solution is Merge Imaging Suite for Teleradiology.  (More to come in future newsletters.)
