Ann Arbor, MI, United States – June 09, 2025 – MultiCare Health System, comprising 13 hospitals and more than 300 clinics, selected Merge to deliver cloud-based enterprise imaging services. The initial agreement in 2024 for Merge Imaging Suite includes a combined deployment of Merge VNA, Merge Universal Viewer, cloud storage and ImageMover. MultiCare expanded the project in 2025 to include cloud PACS.
This move supports MultiCare’s goals to streamline image sharing, avert downtimes, scale operations with new acquisitions, and reduce costs – both for its own clinicians and patients, and for the local Pacific Northwest healthcare ecosystem. MultiCare’s vision is to better serve rural community clinics and critical access hospitals that may not otherwise be able to provide certain imaging services, such as point of care ultrasounds, for patients.
“For more than 140 years, MultiCare has been dedicated to the health and wellness of people of the Pacific Northwest. It is our responsibility to ensure that local, underserved communities are getting access to the patient care services they need, now and in the future,” said MultiCare Health System Director of IT Application Services Leonard Santos. “With Merge, we’re creating an enterprise imaging strategy in the cloud, that will enable us to more easily partner with area hospitals and clinics to expand their imaging services for patients.”
Getting started on a cloud journey is just one aspect of the collaboration between MultiCare and Merge. By investing in Merge Imaging Suite, a modular, scalable imaging platform based on a cloud-native foundation, MultiCare is deploying the full solution for Enterprise Imaging and Radiology.
“We are excited to work with MultiCare as the organization implements its enterprise imaging and radiology strategy,” said Merge General Manager Ashish Sant. “With high availability and proven scalability, our cloud-native enterprise suite will serve MultiCare and its vision to expand access to imaging for patients across the Pacific Northwest.”
