What's new for integrations and APIs
Welcome to the September 2020 release of Merative Integrated Care. Care teams can now send and receive messages from their clients that are sent from the client's Connect Individuals application (if licensed). Administrators can now configure client data by using new application pages as the Client Data Editor is now removed. In addition, there are updates to Reporting.
So that you can more easily identify the changes that will apply to your instance of Merative Integrated Care, updates are tagged as follows:
Signing in with your organization's identity provider
Merative Integrated Care Reporting
Existing customers can now request that Merative Integrated Care and the Reporting application integrate with their third-party identity provider. This means that your organization's identity provider will authenticate user access to both applications instead of authentication through Merative's default identity provider, IBM App ID.
In addition, customers can now automatically onboard users from their identity provider to Merative Integrated Care through a new API. The required Merative Copyright notice, which is not visible on the sign in page when users sign in with your identity provider, is displayed to signed in users every 30 days. To request this integration, please submit a case on the Merative Support Portal.
Sending messages to clients
Merative Integrated Care
So that your clients can contact you and other members of the care team if they have questions or issues related to their care plan, they can now send you messages from their Connect Individuals application. If you have unread messages from your clients, Merative Integrated Care notifies you. You can manage your message notifications, send new message to clients, and filter the list of messages between a single client and their care team.
Use of the messaging feature is subject to new terms of use that are referenced on the messaging page. The terms of use are available here in the Merative Integrated Care product documentation.
Prefilled answers for assessments and questionnaires
Merative Integrated Care
So that you can complete assessments and questionnaires more efficiently and with fewer clicks, assessment and questionnaire answers are now prefilled with the client's previous responses (if configured by your Administrator). Note: Answers are only prefilled based on your Administrator's configuration for the appropriate level of answer prefilling.
Viewing preferred client identifications
Merative Integrated Care
So that you can easily see a client's preferred identification for communications, you no longer need to specify the preferred identification for each client. Your administrator can now configure a default preferred identification for all clients as an alternative to you manually specifying this for each client. If configured, the client's preferred identification is shown on the client context pane, the share care plan PDF, and the assessments and questionnaire PDFs.
Summary card refresh
Merative Integrated Care
Previously not all cards on the client's summary page automatically refreshed when the data that populates them was created, edited, or deleted. When you update the related data from any location in the Care Manager application, its corresponding summary card now automatically refreshes based on your changes.
Enabling client messaging
Merative Integrated Care
By default, the messaging feature is disabled. You can enable messaging so that care teams and clients can use it. Clients must have an active Connect Individuals user account to receive messages and for care teams to send messages to clients. Use of the messaging feature is subject to new terms of use that are referenced on the messaging page. The terms of use are available here in the Merative Integrated Care product documentation.
Configuring client data
Merative Integrated Care
Adobe® will end support of Flash Player on December 31 2020. This means that the Client Data Editor, which is built on Adobe Flash is now removed and you can configure client data by using new application pages. Your existing client data configurations are not impacted. However, to make changes to existing client data types or to configure new client data types, you must use the new pages.
Subscribing to assessment notifications
Merative Integrated Care
So that integrated external systems can receive notifications when care teams complete client assessments in Merative Integrated Care, you can now subscribe them to assessment notifications. Merative Integrated Care sends a notification to the external system about the update (via webhooks). Integrators can retrieve the latest version of the data by using the Assessments API.
Configuring prefilled assessments and questionnaires
Merative Integrated Care
So that you can configure the appropriate level of answer prefilling for your organization's assessments and questionnaires, you can now configure prefill for assessments, questionnaires, and for individual questions in an assessment or questionnaire.
Configuring preferred identifications
Merative Integrated Care
You can now configure a specific identification type as the preferred identification for all clients. If no other identification is set as a client's preferred identification by a care team member, the configured preferred identification type is used when recorded for clients.
Configuring automatically generated tasks due today
Merative Integrated Care
To help care team members to identify which tasks they need to work on today, the calculation that Merative Integrated Care uses to determine the due date for configured tasks that are automatically added is now updated. If you set the Due Date (Days) field for a configured task to 0, the auto-generated task's due date is automatically set to the current business date.
Ability to report on multiple workspaces
Reporting
So that you can create a report for a user with multiple workspaces, the user’s table in the Individuals, Touchpoints, Notes and Tasks folders is now updated to include a Workspaces data item. This contains all of the user’s assigned workspaces including their default workspace.
Assigning multiple security roles to users
Reporting
So that you can create reporting content for your organization and manage user access to the content, you can now assign both the Merative Integrated Care Super User role and the Merative Integrated Care Security role to a single user account. Previously, if you wanted to assign multiple security roles to a user, that user needed to have a separate account for each role assignment with a different email address for each.
Important: the Merative Integrated Care Super User role and the Merative Integrated Care Security roles are the only combination of roles that you can assign to a single user account.
Sending messages to your care team
Connect Individuals
So that you can contact your care team if you have questions or issues related to your care plan, you can now send messages to your care team from your Connect Individuals application. You are notified by email when you receive new messages from your care team. If you have unread messages, you do not receive additional email notifications. You can turn off email notifications at any time in your account settings.
Use of the messaging feature is subject to new terms of use that are referenced on the messaging page. The terms of use are available here in the Merative Integrated Care product documentation.
