Merge Announces Merge Imaging, One Connected Cloud-Native Imaging System for Radiologists Under Pressure

Written by Merge | Nov 5, 2026, 3:00:00 PM
  • Merge Imaging is the cloud-native platform that connects radiology, cardiology and clinical imaging workflows from across the enterprise into one cohesive workflow, helping clinicians and IT teams scale capacity, deploy new technology faster and work from a single source of truth.
  • AssignIQ is the latest innovation added to MergeIQ, the AI workflow orchestration layer, extending capabilities from prior-report intelligence to active study assignment – matching the right case to the right specialist at the right time.
  • Enhanced lung nodule and lesion tracking modules simplify assessment of change and follow-up.

CHICAGO, November 5, 2026 - Merge Imaging, a cloud-native platform, unifies radiology, cardiology and clinical imaging workflows in one place, powered by embedded AI with MergeIQ™, while also debuting new lung nodule and lesion tracking modules. Merge Imaging provides an innovative, single cohesive workflow built for clinicians and IT to scale reading capacity, simplify radiologists’ work, and deploy new technology and tools quickly.

“We’re focused on making radiologists’ day-to-day work easier, giving them practical tools that work together, so they can spend less time navigating fragmented systems and more time focused on patient care,” said Ashish Sant, executive vice president and general manager, Merge. “That means connecting imaging through the Merge Imaging platform, putting AI-powered insights from MergeIQ into their workflows, and adding clinical modules that help them track lesion findings over time.”

Merge Imaging: one end-to-end cloud-native platform

Merge Imaging brings image management, viewing, reading, orchestration and AI all onto one cloud-native platform. Guided by AI insights from MergeIQ and delivered from the cloud, Merge Imaging is built for clinical and IT teams as one cohesive workflow.

  • One user experience: The same viewer, tools and priors for every user, with no bespoke training per department.
  • Open and interoperable: Consolidate DICOM and non-DICOM data from any source into a single, vendor-neutral source of truth.
  • Scales to any organization: Whether a single facility, teleradiology group, or multi-site health system, all users get one connected platform that matches their needs.
  • Security and AI governance: Role-based access, audit trails and central control of every model.

Guided by MergeIQ: AI-driven insights embedded into the radiology workflow at the point of read

MergeIQ brings AI-driven insights directly into the workflow, supporting study assignment and surfacing relevant prior information to the radiologist at the point of read, without requiring extra logins or windows. MergeIQ supports three steps in the imaging workflow.

  • Who should read this? AssignIQ, debuting at RSNA 2026, builds on Merge Workflow Orchestrator to match studies to available radiologists based on subspecialty, credentials, workload and case priority, helping practices balance assignments and use existing capacity.
  • What did they say? NaviIQ searches within prior reports to surface pertinent findings and historical context that inform the current read.
  • Which priors matter? RelevancyIQ identifies and ranks prior reports by relevance to the current study, helping radiologists start with the most useful history.

An American Journal of Radiology analysis of 656 examples with delayed diagnoses identified unavailable or unretrieved prior information among contributing factors. Merge Imaging and embedded prior intelligence are designed to address these information gaps.

Clinical Modules: Tracking Lung and Lesion Findings

Merge Imaging introduces enhanced clinical modules for tracking lung nodules and lesions.

  • Unified lung tracking module combines nodule findings, measurements, and priors in one view, to assess change and support structured follow-up.
  • General lesion tracking module combines lesion findings, measurements, and priors across exams and modalities to assess change consistently over time.

More than 1.5 million U.S. patients are estimated to have incidental pulmonary nodules diagnosed annually, yet a 2022 review found recommended follow-up rates of just 29% to 39%.

Merge’s clinical tracking modules for lung nodules and lesions provide radiologists and clinicians with the solution to do so.
